The Jazz/Funk revival gains pace! Two brand new tracks on one collectable 7″ vinyl 45 from London based band Los Charly’s Orchestra, their first release since their acclaimed album Chicano Disco Funk on Imagenes. Juan Laya and Jorge Montiel take their signature Latin Disco sound and crack up the Funk Factor once more, this time giving it a fuel injection of Jazz. The topside Dana’s Dream has a kind of classic moody Blue Note fusion flavour which evokes the old school sound of Eddie Henderson’s 70’s Jazz/Funk classics on Capitol, while the flip Rio Chico’s Sunset is fullof catchy Clavinet dance hooks, a funky bass line and a groovy Rhodes solo. Two guaranteed floor fillers which will please those who appreciate dance music from a time when it wasn’t burdened by excessive beats and was allowed to be intelligent and fun at the same time!
Musicians who collaborated with this project: Milt Mavrakakis on Keys, Dana Svodoba Chorus, Matheus Nova on Bass, Paul Batik on Trumpet.
Produced by Juan Laya & Jorge Montiel
